The Hardest Working Clothes In My Closet (Winter Edition)

Jan 8

You know the ones. Those pieces in your closet that you reach for day after day because you already know they’re going to work for you. They work hard because you do too. And as the seasons change, I take a look at my ride-or-die classics to see what may need a refresh and what gaps might need to be filled. So below I listed my hardest working pieces for Winter and why I love them to jump start you taking a look at your own closet.

And as always, if you’re looking for more of my latest finds, you can find them in the Claire Lately Shop

Sorel Waterproof Boots

I wear my ankle boots most often and my tall boots for heavy snow outings. Both styles I’ve had for years but this, this, and this are updated favorites. I find they’re true to size.

Stripe Layers

Layering is key to winter style and I’ve been reaching again and again for this tailored top (that can also be personalized for yourself or a beautiful gift idea!) and this casual option.

Beanie Hats

I’m not kidding when I say you’ll find me in a beanie hat from basically October through April. This and this one have been my favorites and this is on my wishlist.

Colorful Sweaters

Sweaters drenched in color bring a lightness and joy to a long and dark season. I added this green turtleneck, this oversized cardigan, this lady-like jacket sweater and this heart option to my closet, perfect for Valentine’s Day too!

At Home Cozy

Snuggling up by the fireplace wearing these Ugg slippers, these Gap sweatpants, these cozy socks, and this heart sweatshirt, is one of my favorite things to do on a snowy winter night. And then at bedtime I change into these pajamas for an upgraded 8 hours.

Fleece Jacket

When I’m in the car dropping the kids off or running quick errands, I bring along my heavy parka or wool coat but I’ll just be wearing my warm fleece jacket. This is the updated style of mine that will take your right on through to Spring.

Base Layer

I recently upgraded my shaping camis to this and this style and wear them pretty much daily in winter layered under tops and sweaters. I go between a size S and M, and I found the small to be great.

Denim Jeans

I’ve been living in these Reformation denim jeans and have this wide-leg pair on my wish list if petite sizes come back in stock.

Medium Tote Bag

Chapstick, the random kids mitten, my beanie hat.. a structured tote is a necessity. It’s an investment that I’ve had for years that I still can’t get enough of. I just keep mine by the back door because I grab it every time I head out. This and this updated styles are favorites!

And Don’t Forget…

YOU. ARE. BEAUTIFUL

Claire
