As I continue to edit my closet to included only what I love and wear, I started noticing a few gaps. One big one was for easy everyday pants that are not jeans or athleisure. Sounds easy but finding quality pairs, in styles with color and personality, and at an approachable price point is harder than it should be. I love Madewell for denim jeans and they are size inclusive offering petite, tall, and plus so I ordered a few pairs of their pants to try out. A beautiful creamy winter white corduroy, an on trend elevated utility pant, and the TikTok viral Harlow Wide Leg Pant. Here’s how it went…
Emmett Wide Leg Pant In Corduroy
The subtle corduroy fabric, magic back pockets, and creamy white give these just the right amount of personality while keeping them clean and simple to style six ways to Sunday. And if you need ideas, see this post for wide leg pants styled looks. I’d say they are true to size. I go between a 29 and a 30 and these are a 29, but they are slightly pulling at my hips so I may wear them around the house a bit and see if the material gives. If not, I’ll exchange them for a bigger size. But overall a huge YES to these.
90’s Straight Leg Utility Pant
Elevated utility wear is set to be a big trend for 2024 and the straight leg of this pair will fit right into that vibe. The long front pockets are very flattering and the stitching detail above and below the knee adds interest. They are fitted with just the right amount of stretch to keep them comfortable at work or on the go. I can see these with a big comfy sweater in Winter and with a tank and sandals to take me right on though to Spring. True to size, they’re also available in a dark cabernet (beautiful!) and tan colorway. They’re a keeper!
TikTok Viral Harlow Wide-Leg Pant
I was the most excited to try these TikTok viral pants but I have to be honest, I’m returning them. The color is STUNNING (they just released even more color options here), the length is perfect, the material is buttery soft, the fit is generous. BUT! If you’re anything like me and don’t have a perfectly flat stomach (thank you children!) all those front pleats do is draw attention and add bulk where I don’t need it. If these were in a flat front I would keep them and wear them until the cows came home. But I would still 1,000% recommend them as long as they fit your body type.
And P.S. – your smile and confidence is what make the outfit, not a viral pair of pants.
